Another "throw back Thursday" sampler from the ASFAS 2011 Mini Fabric Sampler Swap. I made this one as a sample. I remember that it was way more simple than pie to make. I used a piece of an old quilt as a background. I rubber stamped the saying with a "Staz On" ink pad onto muslin. I added some lace sewed it all together on the machine. I added a few buttons (of course) and then pinned an old pansy brooch to the top. My mom loved pansies and they always remind me of her.

This sampler is still hanging on the wall of my cubicle at work as we speak!

Lovely...everything about this is so right! The pansy is the perfect touch to remind you of your Mom. I love stamping on fabric, too...it's a great technique. Thanks for sharing.

The other day I was remembering that I have an old quilt stored away in my shed that I wanted to use for these mini samplers, but there is too much snow right now to get to it. Now that I have seen this little treasure, I am definitely going to dig out that quilt as soon as I can get to the shed! I bought the quilt at a flea market in Florida at least ten years ago, so it has no sentimental value to me and I will enjoy putting it to good use!
