one last pretty tag

So pretty! I have a very similar stamp (I'll bet many of us do!) It really makes a great tag for a shower or wedding gift.

I really can't believe how quickly this month (and this swap) flew by! I really wanted to share many more of the wedding projects with you, but they are still in progress and the swap has ended. I promise to share them with you- perhaps I'll just wait and show you pictures of the wedding too!

See you tomorrow for the swap "wrap up" post! And don't forget to sign up for the June Swap on May 1st!

one last pretty card

This white on white card is just beautiful. I found it on Pinterest and it originated on this lovely blog. The blog itself is not in English, but the beauty and creativity is easily understood!

wedding mania!

My dining room table is a lovely mess of burlap and lace. 22 burlap & lace table runners, burlap banners, 200 utensil holders, 66 paper flowers, 22 embellished wine bottles(which will have an arrangement of the paper flowers inside) and mason jars (which will be filled with baby's breath)... here are some pictures of the paper flowers I made, the color scheme, my daughter Mary Grace's bridesmaid dress, the cupcakes and the sweet little topper cake that are planned for the "sweets" table. (Julie is a bunny lover and Justin gave her this little bunny couple right after they got engaged.) I'm also working on the jewelry, the boutonniers and corsages and Julie's vintage brooch bouquet. More pictures to come...

my matchy matchy

My sister Susie is giving Julie a bridal shower on Saturday! With the inspiration from yesterday's post, I went ahead and made this card and tag duo...the tag for her shower gift and the card for their wedding.

I needed to "vintage it up", so I used vintage wedding gift wrap that's been in my stash to cover the card and tag. I used stickers that I've had forever, a bit of vintage trim, pearly stick ons, printed words on the computer and a bride and groom embellishment set that I purchased recently. The colors match their wedding colors.

matchy matchy

These are such a cute set. I found it on Pinterest and discovered that it was made by designer Tara Orr. What a great idea to make a tag to attach to a bridal shower gift and while you're at it, go ahead and use the same papers and embellishments to make a coordinating card for the wedding and tuck it away. I think I may try that...

rustic but not shabby

The great tag I showcased on Monday was both rustic & shabby. Today's card is rustic, but I wouldn't call it shabby. With its more traditional white card and layout paired with the clean lines of the leather and pearl hearts, it doesn't have a shabby chic look. Very nice!

Speaking of rustic and shabby chic, tomorrow I will be showing you some pictures of the wedding decor and things we've been working on. My dining room table is a lovely mess of lace and burlap! I can't believe the wedding is just 6 weeks away! There is still so much to do...

See you tomorrow!

another vintage wedding image...

...wait, that's me! Yes, that is my husband Edward and I on April 13th, 1985. Today is our 29th wedding anniversary. I was just a baby, 22 years old! Such a classic 1980's dress. The hat was my something borrowed- it was my sister Susie's- she wore it on her wedding day 4 years before that. We dug it out of mothballs last year when Susie's daughter Kathy got married and Kathy wore it at her tea party bridal shower. So fun!

those pesky Prima flowers...

...just won't stop reproducing! I swear I have used them countless times through the years and the jars are still full. How is that possible?? Anyway, I decided to use as many as the little card would hold in hopes of making a dent in the bottle, but alas, it still looks full.

I once again used my Tim Holtz Distress Pad in Antique Ivory for the background script and around the edges. Prima flowers and pearl/rhinestone accents. Sticker letters.
It's a very simple, do-able type card for beginners. Or for those of us trying to use up that supply of pesky Prima flowers...

Yesterday's tag and this card with be part of the White and Ivory Giveaway on April 15th. Mark your calendar so you don't forget to sign up.

See you tomorrow!

ivory and white

I just love this background paper with the roses! I found the lovely sentiment in a little booklet of velumn quotes made for scrapbooking that I've had forever. I went around the edges of the tag and my sentiment with my trusy Tim Holtz Distress Pad in Antique Linen. I used some gold corner stickers to accent the quote. I pulled a pretty button, a snippet of lace and a wee bit of rick rack from my stashes and that was pretty much it.

a touch of whimsey

Isn't this card adorable? I found it on Pinterest, and it originated on this delightful blog. It was made with Stampin' Up punches. I love the veil and top hat. The sentiment is great too!

Does anyone do paper embossing (like the edges of this card)? I did it many years back, and as I recall it was fairly quick & easy. I've seen so many cards with embossed backgrounds lately that it makes me want to revisit this technique. You can also buy paper that is already embossed.

I will be featuring one of my tags tomorrow. See you then!

Vintage Image Saturday... bridal patterns

Feel free to save these. You might even find something to use on your card/tag. Aren't they great? I love how you can look at them and tell which decade they are from! How about that crochet ensemble? The "superman" cape on the wedding gown in the 5th photo made me smile too. Enjoy!
See you tomorrow with some destash a go-go!
